New to the Macintosh? So am I– sort of.
I actually used to work on Apple units– way back in 1996-1997 when I worked for the nearby Bastrop Independent School District. I also used them waaay back in the Eighties as a student in High School (got a 100% in my computer math class).
Anyway– the point is that I had worked on Apple units, and even used them to an extent. I can’t say that I liked System 6, 7, 8 or 9. I had purchased a PowerBook with OS X on it (the very first release) because Virtual PC existed (wasn’t purchased by Microsoft at the time) and it ran Windows. I liked it– but it was SLOOOOW. So slow that I had to sell the darned thing.
Now I’m back. With the new Apple iMac Intel platform, and the fact I can run VMware Fusion that’s just as fast as my old desktop, I’m happy, and I don’t see any going back. I think I became, somewhere along the line– a MacZealot.
